Engine 33-1 ALMOST Back In Service |
| Wed, Jan 20th, 2010 1:26:00 pm -
Tonight at maintenance night, personnel reviewed the new amkus system on E33-1. The new system is capable of running six hydraulic tools simultaneously. Two new hydraulic reels were added to the front bumper and hydraulic tools were moved around to increase capabilities. E33-1 now has two pair of 32" spreaders, a new Amkus 22 Cutter, Heavy Duty "O" Cutter, Speedway Cutter, and Wide Opening Cutter all preconnected. The new system also comes with a wireless remote for operation, freeing up much needed compartment space on the rescue engine. Crews spent the night reviewing the new system as well as reloading hose. Rescue-Engine 33-1 is now at Ryder Graphics getting its finishing touches before officially being placed back in service. |
